Wireless Connectivity: An Intuitive and Fundamental Guide

نویسندگان

چکیده

There is something mystic about being able to communicate wirelessly without any visible connection between the transmitter and receiver terminals. With 4G, 5G, now 6G becoming household names, it highly desirable demystify this important concept for curious readers first making them go through abstract concepts of signals, frequency, probability. Prof. Popovski has come remarkably close achieving that in refreshing textbook on wireless connectivity. When he calls “intuitive” “fundamental” title, truly means it. his approach “somewhat nonlinear” while describing book structure, what really going turn order topics completely its head compared more conventional approaches studying communication systems.

Intuitive numbers guide decisions

Measuring reaction times to number comparisons is thought to reveal a processing stage in elementary numerical cognition linked to internal, imprecise representations of number magnitudes. These intuitive representations of the mental number line have been demonstrated across species and human development but have been little explored in decision making. This paper develops and tests hypotheses...

Representing a Model for Improving Connectivity and Power Dissipation in Wireless Networks Using Mobile Sensors

Wireless sensor networks are often located in areas where access to them is difficult or dangerous. Today, in wireless sensor networks, cluster-based routing protocols by dividing sensor nodes into distinct clusters and selecting local head-clusters to combine and send information of each cluster to the base station and balanced energy consumption by network nodes, get the best performance ...

ENERGY AWARE DISTRIBUTED PARTITIONING DETECTION AND CONNECTIVITY RESTORATION ALGORITHM IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS

Mobile sensor networks rely heavily on inter-sensor connectivity for collection of data. Nodes in these networks monitor different regions of an area of interest and collectively present a global overview of some monitored activities or phenomena. A failure of a sensor leads to loss of connectivity and may cause partitioning of the network into disjoint segments. A number of approaches have be...

Wireless connectivity and capacity

Given n wireless transceivers located in a plane, a fundamental problem in wireless communications is to construct a strongly connected digraph on them such that the constituent links can be scheduled in fewest possible time slots, assuming the SINR model of interference. In this paper, we provide an algorithm that connects an arbitrary point set in O(log n) slots, improving on the previous bes...
